FIRST Robotics provides students the opportunity to work on projects year-round to prepare for competition by planning, designing, prototyping, testing, building, wiring, and programming a robot. Members also contribute to the development and sustainability of the team by working on fundraising, community service outreach, media presence, scouting, and strategy. The team is structured so that students can learn real-life engineering, business, and life skills by working side-by-side with adult mentors. Students are encouraged and expected to take on responsible tasks with the goal being to build a sustainable team that provides an enriching experience for students and mentors who grows to be a world-class team and has a lot of fun doing so.
